After a first professionally qualifying degree – usually a bachelor’s degree or an undergraduate degree – you can continue with a master’s program also known as a graduate degree. With graduate, degree students either continue to pursue the same field of study chosen for their undergraduate degree and get an advanced understanding of that specific topic or field and demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning that many employers value. Or students choose another topic or field for their master’s degree. For example, students can choose management courses for their master’s even if they studied social sciences for their bachelor’s. A graduate degree programme provides a deeper understanding of the specific topic or field of studies and places an increased focus on research. Usually, Master’s degree programmes have two types: “Master of Arts” and “Master of Science”. A master’s programme is concluded with the submission of a master’s thesis. Many master’s programmes quality graduates for a subsequent PhD.
A graduate degree is your next career step. In the Master’s program you have the chance to deepen your understanding and knowledge of a specific topic and area and specialize further in it. Choose the field of study in which you would like to work in the future and build up your expertise. At the CBS International Business School, you also have the opportunity to enter a master’s programme in business studies despite the fact that your first degree is in a non-business subject. Here, you receive a practice-oriented business degree with well-founded contents, an international orientation and diverse networking possibilities. Here you can find an overview of our graduate degree programmes.
