Your master's Degree Gets You In. German Keeps You Here.

Germany is one of the best countries in the world to launch a career – but only if you speak the language. Employers shortlist German speakers first. Landlords respond to German emails faster. Networking events, internships, and day-to-day integration all happen in German.

‍

Studying entirely in English is possible. Building a future in Germany without German proficiency is not.

‍

Why German matters – the real picture

  • Over 70% of job postings in Germany require at least basic German, even in international companies
  • German proficiency is often a requirement for post-study work visa extensions
  • Social integration – friendships, flatmates, networking – happens in German
  • Recognised TELC certificates are accepted by employers, universities, and immigration authorities
  • Students who speak German earn more and find work faster after graduation

Built Around Your Degree, Not on Top of IT.

Most students worry that adding German on top of a full Master's programme will overwhelm them. The Language Pack is structured to prevent exactly that. It starts on campus with a schedule that takes up less time than a single seminar while building consistent progress over three semesters, then concludes with a compact online phase that accelerates your learning.

The Language Pack is one German course in two phases: an On-Campus Phase (4 units per week) running over three semesters, and an Online Phase (20 units per week) during a four-week block after your third semester. The course is taught in small groups by experienced lecturers and tailored to your study schedule – no commuting to a language school, no timetable clashes.

At the end of your course, after thorough preparation during the online classes, you'll take an exam matched to your level and earn an officially recognised telc certificate. Widely accepted across Germany – just like the Goethe certificate – it's your proof of German proficiency for employers, visa applications, and further studies. Want to reach a higher level after graduation? You can take additional telc exams at CBS at any time.
