Cologne, 22 October 2024 - The WirtschaftsWoche survey once again confirms the teaching format of CBS International Business School. For the fourth time in a row, the private university of applied sciences was voted one of the top 3 best digital education providers in the business school category.
The ranking is based on a survey of more than 11,000 users conducted by the market research institute ServiceValue. The participants were asked about 119 providers and chose CBS International Business School as the winner.
“We are proud that our digital offering continues to be so popular,” said a delighted Prof Dr Anja Karlshaus, President of CBS International Business School. “This year, we have once again worked with our colleagues to further develop our teaching concept and tailor the study formats to our target groups. With the growing number of study formats - we currently offer full-time, dual and part-time degree programmes - the various needs of our students are also increasing. We also work closely with corporate partners to ensure that the teaching concept is also suitable for them.”
Digital teaching is not uncommon, but only a few business schools adapt their teaching concept to different study formats and content. CBS International Business School sees itself as a digital face-to-face university, which means that each study model has its own didactic mix that weights the teaching formats differently.
In the full-time degree programme, most courses are taught on site. Students network on campus and benefit from interactive learning with their lecturers. At the Business School, many case studies, guest lectures with companies or business projects with business partners are integrated into the lessons. In the dual study programme, the focus is on student flexibility. A combination of digital live learning, lectures on campus and guided self-study enables an optimal link with the training provided by the partner company.
The part-time degree programme requires even greater flexibility, as students often work full-time at the same time. The course content is largely offered online through digital lectures in real time or guided self-study. Nevertheless, the study cohorts are given the opportunity to attend on-site lectures every two months and are networked with each other at the beginning of the semester. Professors are available to answer questions at any time. The CBS service team is also available on site, via a service chat and by telephone.
“We are delighted that our concept has been so well received by the students. Campus life is still very important to us. We want our students to see themselves as part of the CBS family. To this end, we create a wide range of opportunities for networking and exchange - with each other as well as with lecturers and partner companies,” says Prof Dr Christoph Willers, Managing Director of CBS.
The faculty and external lecturers at the university are also convinced by the concept. Prof Dr Bernd Wallraff, Professor of Business Psychology and expert in AI and leadership, says: “This award confirms our commitment to offering our students a first-class, future-oriented learning environment through the blended learning approach - a combination of face-to-face and digital teaching.” Konrad Kleinfeld, Senior Investment Leader and external lecturer at CBS, congratulates the university on the renewed award and emphasises: “In today's rapidly evolving educational landscape, the true strength of learning lies in flexibility and innovation. This ‘fusion’ of personal engagement with modern digital tools is not just a trend - it is a necessary development in the way we prepare students for the challenges of tomorrow.”
