There are three formal admission requirements for an MBA programme at the CBS:
A first academic degree - this does not have to be in a business studies subject. Graduates from other degree programmes are expressly desired in the MBA programme.
First practical work experience
Proof of sufficient knowledge of English
In addition, interested students should bring personal qualities with which they can master the challenges of studying business studies. These include above all discipline, flexibility, and the ability to work under pressure. In addition, there should be a fundamental interest in economic and financial topics.
MBA programmes have existed in Germany since the 1990s. Previously, an MBA title in Germany could only be gained in cooperation with foreign universities. The first Master of Business Administration was developed in the USA and later in Great Britain. Today, an MBA title is an internationally recognised degree and is taught in variously oriented MBA programmes. These differ in structure and time model.
MBA programmes in Germany are largely offered by universities of applied sciences. With their regional business cooperations, and an already strong practical orientation, these offer the best conditions. In international comparison, there are more specialised MBA programmes to be found in German universities than generalist ones. The CBS therefore also offers a Master of Business Administration with a focus on International Management.

"The practical learning in small groups prepared me optimally for today's project and team work. The CBS provided me with the decisive soft skills and current knowledge from the world of business."
"The Management Studies programme prepares you thoroughly for the tasks of a consultant. In particular, the development of presentation techniques as well as analytical thinking is of enormous importance in the everyday life of a consultant."
"The focus on internationality and practical skills have had a very positive influence on my development at Google. Especially the structured and very versatile project work, which is often found at a private school, was extremely helpful."
"My studies at CBS prepared me for a career in today's dynamic, global work environment. As one's origin and physical location become less and less decisive, it has become increasingly important to have a multinational network and adapt quickly to various cultures and environments."
"Many professors shared their professional business experience with us in class and were able to illustrate dry theory with practical examples. I also enjoyed the international atmosphere on campus."
"The strongly practice-oriented studies and the international orientation of the CBS, as well as the lectures held in English, were an absolutely necessary basis for starting a career with a renowned, international company."
