The sports industry is one of the largest industries in Germany and offers numerous attractive career opportunities for economists. In addition to specialist sports retailers or commercial sports providers, exciting areas of employment are also opening up in top clubs. The professionalization and commercialization of sports has long since required comprehensive entrepreneurial management from clubs as well.
Particularly in the environment of major sports events with medial relevance as well as broad-based marketing of the club brand, experts are sought, for example, in the areas of marketing, media and public relations as well as brand management. But also in terms of investment and financing, clubs now operate like business enterprises.
Learn about exciting areas of professional sports in our lecture series in cooperation with 1. FSV Mainz 05 and gain exclusive insights into the management of a traditional Bundesliga club. In three consecutive lectures we will take you into the brand management of the club (lecture in German), the large area of media and public relations (lecture in English) as well as financing in sports, especially in soccer (lecture in English).
